How are women from Thailand?

According to some information that we found on the internet, women from Thaliand have almost the same oportunities and benefits from women from any other developed country.

But, their religion (buddhism) prohibit them to do some things that, for us, are very normal. We´ll see on this blog those things, and her participation in politics, society, religion, and others.

  1. It's incredible how religion can be more important or how religion guide people's life.
Oh my god I just can't believe that if a women is rape for her husband is something normal, how people can allow that, where is justice here??
But every coutry is different from the other and they have their own beliefs. But definitely I'm not agree with this.

  2. the rape between husband and wife is legal! I CANNOT BELIEVE IT!!. I don't like the arranges in marriages, but I think that the bride and the groom cannot see each other 3 days before the wedding is cool! well for me it is cool, I'd be more nervous without seeing my bride those days!

Other point is that husband can rape his wife. I ommit my comment.
About monks and religion I totally agree. It's nature and it is how it should be.

  4. I think that religion is something very important for that country because they have acted according to that and everyone respect that beliefs overthere as a normal thing like for example, the rape between husband and wife is legal, it is something very weird for us but not for them.

  6. Well... well... well the rape... all comments talk about that. Well, here in Chile happen the same, husband does what ever he want with his wife, she goes to the police and the police just say... "Sorry and good luck for the next time". But I am so happy with the equality of rights and opportunities there!

  9. I think religion protects you in some way. As religion plays an important part here we can not discuss that but there are some rights that we can. I also think once you are married you can't say too much about being raped, because in some way is your husband and you got married to him. This would be only in the cases where you chose your husband of course. According to this blog, I would say this can also happen to a man so at least there is some equality about rights.

  10. It really impresses me the two facts about marriages; that they can’t see each other after three days after the wedding and also that these marriages are arranged. That’s really impressing. But something even more impressing is the fact that adultery is allowed for men but not for women (even if I don’t agree with the adultery crime, this should be equal for both genders).

  12. I think is cool!, but the laws about adultery and rope... must be fix them. That's the only thing that I didn't like... the rest, is fine... Is a little equal, except for religion things but that is own decision from all of us, nothing to say or judged about it, even if I think that is totally mad the way in how the cultural beleifs make act the people in a contradictory way.

  14. This country has good things but with a few bad things, all become terrible. Adultery and rope should change because are bad things of their laws. Carla Azocar

  17. This is a strange culture because they have laws to incorporate women in society in different positions and occupations but at the same time women have to deal with laws that support the bad behaviour of their husbands like adultery and don’t receive punishment for this... while in our culture this is so disrespectful for any women! So weird.
